Little things can make a big difference.
Do you love inspiring stories?
I do and I love sharing them with my immediate circle, when I come across one.
I heard this story while listening to a podcast of one of my favorite motivational speakers, Jay Shetty. It was told by one of the guests on his show, Jim Kwik, who is an expert in speed-reading, memory improvement, brain performance and accelerated learning.
He came in and checked a few electric boards. He identified one particular board to work on, opened it and in a couple of minutes, found a screw and turned it. Like a miracle, the power plant came back on and everyone cheered. The manager was thrilled to see the issue fixed quickly and praised the technician for helping them out in such a short amount of time and bringing them back to normalcy.
Manager : Ï can't thank you enough for the timely help and exceptional service. How much would that be?
Technician: That would be 10,000$, Sir.
Manager (shocked): 10,000$ for just being here a few minutes and turning a screw? That's unheard of. Can you please give me an itemized bill for the service?
Technician: Sure, I can.
He pulls out a notebook, scribbles down a few lines and hands it over to the manager. The manager immediately understands, takes out a cheque and writes it for 10,000$. The technician thanks him and leaves.
A snippet of the invoice is below.
Turning the screw - 1$
Knowing which screw to turn- 9,999$
Little things can make a big difference.
When what you think, what you say and what you do are aligned, you experience harmony.
Do you have an inspiring story to share? :)
